Backaches/fractures?
I have been having a lot of discomfort in my back after a fall. I have been trying to stay off my feet and useing a heating pad but it does not seem to be getting better. It is hard getting up out of a chair with this pain. I have been on Fosamax for 2 years. Could this be a fracture in my back? shirleyann

Experience with Actonel
Hello everyone. I've been reading the group for a few weeks and decided to introduce myself and ask a question. I'm a 63 year old female who was diagnosed with osteopenia about 5 years ago. My doctor originally prescribed Evista but after 2 years he wasn't pleased with the results and switched me to Actonel (once a week). I recently had another bone scan and the hip/back area has improved but I still have problems in the arm/wrist area. I watch my diet and exercise but recently decided to drop all caffeine from my diet in hopes it will result in an improved scan next time. Any other sugg

58 year old that was just treated for a compression fracture
Hi I am a 58 year old who is seeking advice from anyone that can help. About 6 years ago I was diagnosed with Osteoperina. Since then I have not followed up with bone density exams. 2 years ago I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer - it was contained in the uterus and it was a stage 1. I thought I put this all behind me. 1 month ago a compression fracture was spotted on a routine cat scan. Forteo
My mother in law has just been prescribed Forteo and I was wondering if anyone here has used it and what the results were. She has already had several vertebral fractures and undergone vertebroplasty last summer. Has been on Fosamax and myacaltin (sp?) for about a year, but apparently they aren't helping. Any info would be greatly appreciated!!
